The Art of Accessorizing

Just like bad choices of accessories can ruin an otherwise perfectly put together outfit, a knowledgeable choice can make an ordinary outfit fabulous. (It’s easier than you think, trust me) A few simple guidelines to keep in mind while putting your outfit together to make it stand out. Shoes and handbags are the two most important accessories you will ever own . Choose them carefully. They don’t necessarily have to match as that may lead to a monotonous look; they more so should be harmonized with each other, this usually means ensuring there’s some common element or theme between the accessories and the outfit. (This could be choosing pieces of similar hue, texture, style or design element) Perfect e.g. if you’re wearing a if you’re wearing a light coloured, light weight ‘summer’ dress, you may want to choose a light coloured, strappy sandals rather than a dark coloured, heavy sandals. The same applies to choosing a handbag.

Disclaimer : I am in no form or fashion a professional makeup artist nor have I ever claimed to be. I’m just a girl who decided to love make-up J I simply adore natural looking make-up, the type of make-up that enhances your features and make you glow. I use to dislike my eyes and lips and never liked wearing eye shadow or lipstick but then I fell in love with myself and realized that I can only be me and I’m going to have to work with what I have (lol). “It’s your differences that make you unique.” If you want to know what products I used to create this look please keep reading.

My Closet Favourite – October (DIY Boyfriend Jeans)

Distressed Jeans have been in for a minute and I’m feeling it, you can tell. The ripped, worn-out style in a variety of washes is being seen everywhere.  If you’re looking for a relaxed, ultra-easy chic style distressed jeans are definitely the way to go. The absolute best part is they can be worn in a number of different ways. You can pair them with a fitted tee and converse for an edgy outdoor appearance, you can dress it up with strappy heels, a blazer, and statement accessories, and you can also style them with a crop top and a pair of wedges. The key is a balanced juxtaposition! If you want to see how I styled my ‘bf jeans’ please keep reading.

Ten things about makeup I wish I knew sooner!

I wish I knew…..      1.      That foundation is supposed to be matched to my undertone first and my complexion second. The mistake that’s often made is choosing a foundation based on how light or dark you are when we should be looking at our undertones.  Our undertones are either neutral, warm or cool.      2.      The importance of my eyebrows and how they can enhance my appearance by flattering my facial shape, balancing my features, and framing my eyes and the correct way to shape, and fill them in 3.   That the more expensive a product does not necessarily mean the better it works. The products I choose should be dependent on the needs of my skin and the effect that I want.
