Healthy, Glowing Skin

These are the things that I use on/for my skin, I’m sharing because I get a lot of questions about my skin care, however, everyone is different and therefore different things will work for different people.  My mom always says “treat your body right and your body will treat you better”. Since I’m aware that I live on an island and its sunny most of the times, I try to protect my skin as much as I can as I’m sensitive to the fact that the sun causes premature aging amongst other damages (and I intend to be as young for as long as I can lol). ·          I've been using Protex antibacterial soap for as long as I can remember, my mom used this on my brothers and I since we were babies and I've just never changed soaps because it works for me. It doesn’t dry out my skin or doesn’t have a harsh scent. Try to use products that are not too harsh on your skin and doesn’t have alcohol in them. ·          I always use a wash cloth, this helps with thoroughly getting off all t

My Glam Photo-Shoot Experience

Hey everyone, since I started my blog I’ve had the opportunity to do two photo-shoots. This weekend I had the pleasure of working with photographer Nigel Reid of Frame photography. I am so excited; I had to share my experience. Nigel and I have been friends before he got into photography; he’s a very nice guy who manages to keep you’re shoot fun but professional. My photo shoot was glam themed and included a few bikini shots as well. I was fortunate enough to have my hair styled by hairstylist Felicia Dos Santos (will put the link to her page below) and make-up done by the very talented Arlene Villarule (also linked below). My hair was styled without extensions as I’m wearing my hair in a short style at present. My make-up consisted of a black smokey eye with glitter and bright red lips. This was not my first photo shoot; however it is the first one that I've had the ‘full works’ i.e. hair and make-up done. My experience was a fun one although I had the flu with f

OOTN / MOTN (Fete # 6)

Fete number six was a small All Inclusive last Saturday night and so I opted for a simple look. Ate to my hearts delight lol. I paired a black high-waist shorts with a plain turquoise v-neck vest. I didn't get a full length picture but I wore flat cream and gold sandals to match with my cream and gold necklace and cream and gold bangle. My eye shadow from my NYX Bohemian Chic Nude Palette (green, brown & gold smokey eye), eyelash extensions, highlighted and contoured with NYX full coverage concealer in Beige Beige and Nutmeg Cascade respectively, Blush by MAC in pinch me, Milani Baked Bronzer in Glow and for lipstick colour Fiesta. Simple can always be effective with the right touch of course. Xo Below is a close up view of my eye-shadow comprised of green, brown and gold from both my Sacha & NYX Bohemian Nude Palettes. Detailed description of what products I used to achieve this look

See below to get a detailed description of the products used to achieve this look  Here is a detailed description of the products I used to get this look! Most of these products are affordable, looking great does not have to be expensive, you just have to know what works for you. TIP: Knowing your undertone helps you choose the right colour make-up and clothes. There are many different shades of skin but there are only two undertones they are warm and cool. I did some research on how to know whats my undertone. I'm a warm therefore I look best when I wear eye shadows that are gold, copper, bronze or any of the earth tones (orange, olive, yellow or brown). Warm tones also look beautiful in "earthy" shades like burnt orange, cream, saturated sunny yellow, brown, dark leafy green and that shade of red maple leaves turn during autumn. These are the colours that make my skin glow. If you would like to know more about undertones and how knowing yours help, please c

OOTD / MOTD (Fete # 7)

Hey everyone! Here is another make-up and outfit look! This outfit was selected for Altitude, a party held at Fort George Sunday evening. I love this pair of pants because I can dress it up or down depending on what I want. I choose my clothing first and that helps me decide on what type of make-up I want. I matched these green trousers with a brown, orange and gold bustier and added a brown twined belt to match and I completed my look with my beige strappy wedges. Less is always more when coming to accessories and jewelry. I wore my gold body chain and a thick pair of large gold hoops; on my wrists I wore a gold watch on one hand and a gold and cream bangle on the other. (Not seen in the photos, as I put on the watch after I took these pictures) I was dressed up twice already for the weekend so for my makeup I decided that I would just opt for heavy winged eyeliner in black with just highlighting eye shadow (tear duct and under brows). The bustier was browns and gold, so I wan

Three factors I consider when choosing an outfit

There are several factors that should be taken into consideration when choosing an outfit for ANY occasion, from a simple mall run to dressing all the way up for a party or wedding etc. These are the three things I take into consideration when putting an outfit together.             All my life I've been hearing my father and most elders say to me ‘know thyself’ and up until a couple years ago I had no appreciation for this statement. In order to choose the accurate colour clothing and jewelry for yourself you have to know things like your undertone and your complexion, for a flattering fit you need to be aware of your physique (dress, pants, skirt and shirt, bra and underwear size) your hair colour, your likes and dislikes and your comfort zone also play a very crucial role when making outfit decisions. These are the things that can make the biggest difference between your outfit looking flattering and a hot flop mess.             What are you attending? Knowing th

Crease definition, eye liner & bright lips  Hey everyone! I just wanted to give y'all a quick run down of my make up and outfits this weekend. There's different things I take into consideration when choosing an outfit, price (most important), type of event, location and time of event etc and sometimes my mood plays a big part as well. This outfit was chosen for Sahara, a carnival fete thrown on the beach. My make-up is minimal because its humid at the beach and it's outdoors (there might be a chance of rain lol). I used my usual primer and foundation, contour and highlight, bronzer and blush, brown and gold shadow to give my crease definition. My lip liner is milani in no. 8 fuchsia and my lipstick is also milani in the colour flamingo pose. I'm going to be at the beach, so I needed something consisting of some type of beachwear (just to be appropriate) and of course a whole, flat shoe because the sand quickly turns into mud. I saw this pair of studded sneake

OOTD / MOTD (Fete # 4)

Complete look of outfit and make-up Hey everyone! My first carnival fete ‘Outfit of the Day’ feature is this multi-green, black & cream tribal print romper w/ low V neck. I love rompers although they’re all fun and games until you need to use the bathroom (lol). The best part about them though is that they are very easy to accessorize or accentuate. Because my romper was already colourful, I decided to go light on the accessories and the make-up. I accessorized with a simple gold body chain, small cream & gold earrings, a cream & gold bangle and a pair of cream & gold sandals and because I’m not the boring type, I added a pop of colour with my fuchsia pink clutch. My ‘Make-up of the Day’ comprised of a very light, dark green and gold smokey eye, bronzer on my cheeks (to get a nice sheer look) and pale pink lips. If you want a step by step description of how I achieved this look and the products used, please feel free to comment below. Fun w/ my home girl at
