These are the things that I use on/for my skin, I’m sharing because
I get a lot of questions about my skin care, however, everyone is
different and therefore different things will work for different people.
My mom
always says “treat your body right and your body will treat you better”. Since
I’m aware that I live on an island and its sunny most of the times, I try to
protect my skin as much as I can as I’m sensitive to the fact that the sun
causes premature aging amongst other damages (and I intend to be as
young for as long as I can lol).
·
I've been using Protex antibacterial soap for as
long as I can remember, my mom used this on my brothers and I since we were
babies and I've just never changed soaps because it works for me. It doesn’t dry
out my skin or doesn’t have a harsh scent. Try to use products that are not too
harsh on your skin and doesn’t have alcohol in them.
·
I always use a wash cloth, this helps with
thoroughly getting off all the dirt that’s gotten on your skin during the day.
·
I give myself a ‘sugar body scrub’ every one to
two weeks. Sugar along with cleansing also exfoliates your skin and relieves it
of any dead skin you may have (leaving it clearer and healthier looking).
·
I use Jergens to moisturize my entire body
(except my face of course) and the trick is I put extra virgin olive oil in my moisturizers
both body and hair.
·
I try to drink eight glasses of water per day (I
really do), honestly some days I miss my target because the building I work in
is so cold and it makes me want to use the bathroom every hour but I make this
a priority never the less.
·
I eat lots and lots and lots and lots of fruits
and vegetables. I have a fruit smoothie at least twice a week and I try to have
fresh green salads with every meal.
·
I drink more fruit juice and less soft drink.
·
And last but not least I exercise, if I can’t go
to the gym or run I try to get a sweat in at home. Regular exercise is one of
the keys to healthy skin,
anything that promotes healthy circulation also helps keep your skin healthy and vibrant by increasing blood flow,
exercise helps nourish skin cells and keep them vital.
It may sound like a lot but once you start making a habit of
things they tend to become easier to do. “Your actions become habits and habits
become your character”. Xo
